A defendant shall be punished by imprisonment for six months.

However, the execution of the above punishment shall be suspended for one year from the date this judgment becomes final and conclusive.

Punishment of the crime

On January 7, 2009, the Korea Electric Power Corporation (hereinafter “Korea Electric Power Corporation”) commenced construction works for power transmission lines in order to supply the power generated from the power station located in the area of Gyeongnam-gun, Nannam-gun to the Daegu Power Station and the senior Power Station, and completed construction works (basic, assembly, and inter-line construction works) with the exception of 23 nuclear power lines located in the area of each northwest-gun, Cheongbuk-do, from among the 40 power transmission towers.

On the other hand, Cheongdo residents and external organizations, such as the Cheongdo-gun residents and the Daegu Environmental Campaign Association, interfered with the construction of the above Samgyeong-ri 23 transmission towers, and the construction was suspended from July 3, 2012. On March 7, 2013, 222 organizations, such as the Green Party and the Daegu Environmental Campaign Association, jointly and severally formed the “Cheongdo-345kV Joint Measures Committee against the Cheongdo-do-345k transmission towers,” and on April 26, 2013, residents continued to engage in construction opposition and assembly assemblies.

On October 8, 2013, the Republic of Korea filed an application for provisional injunction against obstruction of construction with the opposing residents and the outside 23 persons with the Daegu District Court on the provisional injunction on March 20, 2014, and the construction resumed from July 21, 2014.

As a member of a green party, the Defendant is a person who is opposed to the Electric Transmission tower Corporation and participated in the demonstration.
