A. The Plaintiff is a legal entity established for the purpose of research and development, such as exploration, development, and utilization of underground resources, and the Defendant is a legal entity established pursuant to the Korea Institute of Marine Science and Technology Act for the purpose of research and development of marine science and technology. The Defendant’s previous name in the Intervenor was “Korea Institute of Marine Science and Technology Promotion” but was changed into the current name on June 2

(hereinafter “Supplementary Intervenor”) is a corporation established to efficiently support planning, management, evaluation, etc. of research and development projects, etc. for fostering marine science and technology.

The total research period of the “A” project, which is a research and development project under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, on June 30, 2016, is 4,779,000,000 won for the relevant year’s research and development period from June 1, 2016 to December 31, 2020, and the relevant year’s agreement period from June 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017.
