Defendant shall be punished by a fine of five million won.

If the defendant fails to pay the above fine, 50,000 won shall be one day.

Punishment of the crime

The defendant is a person who has served as an associate professor in the Environmental Health Department of the Seoul National University located in the Jeonan-gun.

On November 2006, the Defendant participated in three research services, such as the attached Table of Crimes, as well as the participation of researchers of the “F underwater ecosystem structural research” under the contract with the E University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, which was ordered by the D Research Institute affiliated with the Ministry of Environment.

On January 2007, the Defendant submitted an application for payment of the research expenses to the E University Environment Research Institute, and registered G as a research assistant, the Defendant’s third party, and applied for payment of the personnel expenses.

However, the above G did not have participated as a research assistant of the above research.

On January 23, 2007, the Defendant: (a) registered three research assistants related to three research services, such as the list of crimes in the attached Table, and received KRW 45,181,880,00 from the time on which he/she applied for personnel expenses, travel expenses, etc. for the total amount of 34 times until May 22, 2009, from the time he/she received KRW 960,000,000 from the E University Environmental Research Institute.

Accordingly, the defendant was given property by deceiving the victim.
