1. The defendant's appeal is dismissed.

1. Basic facts

A. The Defendant is a professor of C University D operated by the Plaintiff and was retired on August 31, 2018.

B. C University, the Defendant, who was in office as a professor of the said university from around 2012 to March 2014, 2012, 2013, and 2014, publicly announced each of the instant plans for the selection of academic research tasks (hereinafter “each of the instant plans”) and accordingly received an application for research tasks from faculty members of the said university.

According to each selection plan of this case, research expenses are paid when selecting a task within 50% of the project amount, and the balance of research expenses is paid according to the results of the research project.

C. Upon receiving and examining a research plan from the Defendant, C University selected the Defendant as a teacher to conduct academic research tasks in the school with subsidization of academic research expenses as follows.

Scientific research funds of KRW 2013,00,000, KRW 10,000 on April 30, 2017, 2014 (hereinafter referred to as “science research funds of KRW 2013”), which is expected to be published as the date on which the date on which the commencement date of the project name commences (hereinafter referred to as “the date on which the project name commences”) ends, shall be referred to as “the academic research funds of KRW 2013, Jun. 1, 2013, G on May 31, 2015 (hereinafter referred to as “the date on which the project name commences”) and “the academic research funds of KRW 50,000,000, KRW 500,000, KRW 100, 200, or H, Science research funds of KRW 2014 or less”.

D. As above, in 2012, 2013, and 2014, the term “matters of attention to the selection of the C University’s academic research expenses” attached to the official letter selected by C University as a teacher to conduct the internal academic research of the Defendant is indicated as follows:

The results of the study shall be published and published within two years in the domestic academic journal after the expiration of the research period, and the publication (publication) in the international specialized academic journal and the specialized academic journal shall be made within three years after the expiration of the research period;
