1. Basic facts

A. Status of the parties (1) The defendant is a public broadcasting company that employs 5,000 full-time workers and operates broadcasting business.

(2) The Plaintiffs are those who have worked as video reporters (VJ, ides Journalist) at the Defendant’s news center.

A From April 15, 2002, from July 22, 2003, Plaintiff B worked in the program “K” from October 10, 2005, Plaintiff C from October 10, 2005, and Plaintiff D from March 1, 2005.

E From August 16, 2005, from June 27, 2005, Plaintiff F served in the program “L” from May 2, 2005, Plaintiff G from May 2, 2005, and Plaintiff I from April 26, 2005.

H served in K’s program from August 1, 2003, and transferred from April 26, 2005 to “L” program.

B. As the Act on the Protection, etc. of Fixed-Term and Part-Time Workers enters into force on May 2007, the Defendant prepared a “VJ operational improvement plan” with the following contents, and notified 12 video reporters, including the Plaintiffs, to the effect that “if the business registration is not completed, they shall no longer work at the Defendant’s news center.”
