A defendant shall be punished by imprisonment for six months.

However, the execution of the above punishment shall be suspended for a period of two years from the date this judgment becomes final and conclusive.

Punishment of the crime

The defendant, as a reporter belonging to the D Editor, found a large construction site, collected environmental violations issues, etc., and raised money and valuables against the business owner as if he borrowed articles or reported them.

A. B. From November 2015, the Defendant: (a) discovered the F site creation construction site around Pyeongtaek-si from around 2015 to several directors of the said F site development project; (b) demanded, “In the event that it does not comply with the request, the removal construction business company will interfere with the environmental issues, etc. in the construction site; and (c) will help the construction in the future; and (d) would cause the advertising cost to exceed five million won; and (e) threatened the victim as if he/she posted an article about the environmental law issues, etc. in the construction site or filed a civil petition; and (e) received KRW 2 million in cash from K in the instant construction site from the victim L to the victim L to the extent that he/she interfered with the construction project.
