A defendant shall be punished by imprisonment with prison labor for up to eight months and by a fine of up to 80 million won.

When the defendant does not pay the above fine.

Punishment of the crime

Accordingly, the defendant conducted fishery activities in a specific prohibited zone among the exclusive economic zones of the Republic of Korea.

2. An inspection of violation of an order to stop or a judicial police officer prescribed by Presidential Decree may issue an order to stop a foreign vessel suspected of engaging in illegal fishing activities in an exclusive economic zone, and the relevant foreign vessel shall comply with such order;

Nevertheless, at around 18:25 on June 23, 2016, the Defendant filed a petition with the Cheongjin-gun, Incheon, Incheon, a specific prohibited area among the exclusive economic zones of the Republic of Korea.
