1. 2013. 8. 8.경 범행 피고인은 2013. 8. 8. 20:00경부터 다음날 16:00경까지 서울 동대문구 D건물 545호에서, 동거하던 피해자 E(38세, 여)이 자신의 결별 제안에 동의하였다는 이유로, 서랍장 위에 있던 가위를 들고 와 피해자의 얼굴 가까이 들이대면서 ‘가위로 눈을 파고 볼을 잘라버리겠다’고 말하고, 주방에 있던 강화유리로 된 냄비 뚜껑(지름 20cm 가량) 2개를 양손에 들고 피해자의 머리 부분을 10여 회 때리고, 주먹과 발로 피해자의 얼굴, 배, 다리 부분 등을 수회 찼다.

피해자가 현관쪽으로 도망가자, 피고인은 팔로 피해자의 목을 감아 조르고, 손으로 피해자의 머리카락을 잡고 방 안으로 피해자를 끌고 가 넘어뜨린 다음 의자에 걸려있던 남성용 허리띠(너비 5cm 가량)로 피해자의 목을 감아 잡아당기고, 계속하여 주방에서 부엌칼(총 길이 30cm 가량)을 가지고 와 애완견의 목을 자른 다음 위 칼끝을 피해자의 얼굴, 목 등에 대고 위협하고, 위 칼로 피해자의 상의를 찢고 피해자의 다리, 배 부분을 수회 쿡쿡 찌른 후, 피해자에게 옷을 벗고 무릎을 꿇으라고 하였다.
