피고인은 2013. 01. 01. 15:25경 C 1t 봉고 프런티어 화물차를 운전하여 광주 서구 마륵동에 있는 서창교차로를 풍암동 쪽에서 광주공항 쪽으로 좌회전하였는데, 교통신호에 따라 안전하게 운전할 업무상 주의의무를 게을리한 채 신호를 위반하여 좌회전하다가 소각장 쪽에서 풍암동 쪽으로 정상신호에 따라 직진하던 D 운전의 E 택시 앞범퍼를 피고인 화물차 조수석 우측 적재함 부분으로 충격하게 하여 피해 차량에 탑승한 피해자 F(여, 39세)에게 약 2주간의 치료가 필요한 경추 및 요추부 염좌 등의 상해를 입게 하였다.
