Defendant shall be punished by a fine of KRW 1,000,000.

If the defendant does not pay the above fine, 50,000 won shall be one day.

Punishment of the crime

The defendant is a person who has overall control over the business of manufacturing, entering, shipping, and environmental management as the factory site of a company of the C&D company in the Chungcheong-gun B.

Any person who intends to dispose of wastes shall ensure that wastes are not scattered or leaked in the course of collection, transportation, or storage, and prevent the water from being drained out, and where the water is produced, he/she shall dispose of it below the permissible discharge levels, as prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Environment.

The defendant keeps approximately 30 square meters of waste sludges generated in the process of foundation and masting, in outdoor sites of a place of business without separate raining facilities.

On July 23, 2013, a cleaning agent, who was placed in rainwater, neglected to exercise due care and supervision over the water that contains SS(Supplementary Substances) in excess of 30 times the permissible emission level of SS (Supplementary Substances) generated from rain rain on July 23, 2013, and contaminated the surrounding environment by allowing approximately 13:00 to KRW 14:00 from July 23, 2013 to KRW 14:00 to a nearby river through outside of the place of business.
