피고인들은 2014. 7. 27. 01:10경 청주시 서원구 분평동 분평주공6단지 612동 앞 노상에서 술에 취하여 길을 걸어가다가 맞은편에서 걸어오던 피해자 E(44세)와 피고인 B이 몸이 부딪친 일로 시비가 되어 피해자 E와 그의 처남인 피해자 F(40세)과 말다툼을 하다가, 피고인 B은 주먹으로 피해자 E의 눈 주위를 한 대 때리고, E의 몸을 잡고 바닥에 넘어져 뒹굴고, 피고인 A은 이에 합세하여 주먹으로 피해자 E의 안면부를 수회 때리고, 옆에서 이를 말리던 피해자 F의 눈 부위를 주먹으로 수회 때리고, 옆에서 이를 말리던 F의 처인 피해자 G(여, 39세)의 머리채를 잡아 흔들고, E의 처인 피해자 H(여, 44세)의 얼굴 부위를 주먹으로 수회 때리는 등 피해자들을 폭행하였다.
