A defendant shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than eight months.

However, the execution of the above punishment shall be suspended for two years from the date this judgment becomes final and conclusive.

Punishment of the crime

D play a role of operating an illegal online gambling site called “E” in the Republic of Korea, F was employed by the said D, and F was in charge of managing bulletin boards of “E” sites, conducting games, customer receptions, and employees, and the Defendant was in charge of joining members and customer receptions, and conducting sports schedule at the “E” website office.

No person, other than the Seoul Olympic Sports Promotion Foundation or an entrusted business entity, shall provide property or financial benefits to persons who issued sports betting tickets or similar things and predicted the result thereof.

From early September 2015 to January 18, 2016, the Defendant: (a) at an operating office of “E” (G, H, I, and J), a private sports gambling site (hereinafter referred to as “E”); (b) pursuant to the aforementioned division of roles, the Defendant: (c) worked 12 hours alternately with K, L, etc., the manager F and other employees; and (d) deposited members’ membership and customer reception services; and (e) deposited money in the accounts managed by the said website; and (c) deposited at least KRW 5,000 to KRW 1,00,000,000 by filling game money; and (d) predicted the result of sports games (such as farmers, districts, campings, campings, and stables) to receive or lose the game money according to the result of the games; and (e) deposited money corresponding to the online game money designated by the member to pay money to the said online account.

As a result, the Defendant conspired with D, F, etc. in order to offer property or property benefits to a person who correctly predicted the result by issuing sports betting tickets or similar things, and at the same time, opened a space for gambling for profit.
