A defendant shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than one year and six months.

374 million won shall be additionally collected from the defendant.

Punishment of the crime

1. No person, other than the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation and the Seoul Olympic Sports Promotion Foundation and the entrusted business entity, shall provide property or property benefits to persons who correctly predicted the outcome by issuing sports promotion betting tickets or similar things;

The Defendant, in collusion with B, C, D, and Sung-sung E, etc., opened and operated an illegal sports gambling site under the name of “F” and “G” at the management office of the gambling site prepared in the Chinese Cheongdo, etc. from March 2016, the Defendant was in charge of the overall management and operation of the gambling site by collecting employees and borrowed-name accounts as a general manager, and managing profits. The Defendant, B, C, and D, as employees employed by the Defendant at the call center of the above office, were in charge of obtaining membership approval, game money filling and exchange, adjustment of distribution rate, entry of the results of sports games, and telephone calls from the members.

From March 2016 to January 2018, the Defendant: (a) operated “F, G,” which is an illegal sports soil site in the Chinese Cheongdo; (b) instructed members to use the borrowed name account; (c) deposited money from its members; and (d) deposited it into the game money; and (c) predicted and identified the difference in the winning and points of various sports games held in Korea and abroad in the form of betting, at least 5,000 to KRW 1,00,000 in the form of betting; and (d) paid a certain percentage of cyber money to members who actually predicted the result of the sports; and (e) paid a certain percentage of cyber money in proportion to the distribution rate of the said cyber money to members; and (e) paid a certain amount of cyber money to members who actually predicted the result of the sports; and (e) paid a certain amount of cyber money to members by recovering the said cyber money in question.
