피고인은 2015. 8. 10. 03:00 경 대구 수성구 D에 있는 ‘E’ 주점 앞에서 술에 취해 아무런 이유 없이 피해자 F(29 세 )에게 욕설을 하면서 머리로 피해자의 얼굴을 들이 받아 바닥에 넘어뜨리고, 다시 일어난 피해자의 얼굴을 머리로 들이받아 바닥에 넘어뜨린 후 라이터를 쥔 주먹으로 피해자의 얼굴 부위를 2회 때리고 양 주먹으로 피해자의 배, 가슴, 목 부위 등을 10회 때려 피해자에게 좌 안 외상성 망막 박리와 외상성 백내장 등의 상해를 가하여 좌 안의 법적 실명상태에 이르게 하였다.
